Funan Anime Matsuri 2015 (FAM 2015)

hello! i'm back to do a recap on today's outing to FAM 2015

or perhaps yesterday and today's outing to Funan.

I would say today would be more things to cover since the Creator's Hub was opened today but not yesterday.

went out yesterday and had alot of Korean food! Today was Japanese food day though

went out with plans to eat Bingsu!~

Pat bingsu is the Korean version of our ice kachang, but the shaved ice is very fine and powdery unlike our ice kachang.

i forgot the actual name, i think it's along the lines of snow milk and mango

we also ordered Hotteok which has a brown sugar filling in it

the picture does no justice to the taste, it's really delicious though

after we had desserts in the late morning, which was almost close to 12 noon we went to Funan centre

i actually didn't check the schedule properly yesterday so i didn't know the creator's hub would only start today.

well, i still managed to get some items at Ani-Nation (they are located next to La Tendo)

i realised i'm really random when it comes to buying stuff, although i didn't even play Touken Ranbu i still bought the A5 size clear file

boo hoo... that's how my money flies faster than i can say "Kamsahamnida"

bought a Nanatsu no Taizai rubber strap then i found out i had pre-ordered it from Amiami

i also went to try my luck at the gashapon!~

shall add the pictures... because i took a collective picture of all my stuff.

after that we went to Vivocity to walk and eat dinner at Seoul Garden Hotpot before heading home

haha, i always end up with kimchi base soup though i told myself to try Miso base the next time

went out and met up at Dhoby first but since we didn't feel like having lunch so early about 11.30am, we headed to Funan first

that's when things started to escalate very quickly

i should probably say this phrase every time i do a post on hauls

there was quite a crowd there when we reached Funan at the atrium because it was when Baozi and Hana scheduled to be on the stage

the queue at the AFA shop stall to buy their photo book was super long... and the queue to get their autograph was long, that goes without saying

after looking at the stalls awhile, we headed upstairs to level 5 to start the browsing of doujin merchandise...

i think this purchasing of doujin merchandise started about 2 years ago when i started going to EOY and icds (last year)

that's when things started to escalate very quickly

i must add this phrase here again.

i must say, i tried to restrain myself.

luckily i didn't get more than i expected to because some of the artists booths were the same at Doujima at Scape in April so i had already gotten some of the prints and keychains.

bought a Yowamushi Pedal print with a cute Nagisa sticker at the same booth, the Donten Ni Warau badges and mini Ghibli badges were from the same booth, a Souma keychain from another booth and Nora and Yukine were from TwinRabbitsDesign

so happy just looking at these...
the YowaPedal print just made me so happy... it just summarizes me in general.

everything here screams kawaii

also got abit of things from this booth, monsterlittle.ziqi

they actually almost always have a booth at the anime-related events i go to..

i used to walk past without getting their items but it was really cute

just couldn't pass up the opportunity

i was thinking of giving the badges to my colleagues

the postcards are quite adorable too

the monster inc and kyojin are my favourites

i also saw a table with some artists from Thailand, they are super talented

i got these magnets

cool, cats, cute

they had t-shirts on sale with very cute shiba inu designs.

next to that was another artist selling t-shirt with Touken Ranbu print

really cool though

i also bought a few more things from Ani-Nation today again.

unfortunately the paint job on Hinata's figure is botched but at least i got him...

so glad i got Makishima senpai!~

short update

this is how my off day is spent

the motive was to go hunting for new gashapon

and my conclusion is that the best place is Vivocity

because usually it has at least 2/3 changes in the toys per month

got alot of anime related stuff today

Haikyuu~ rubber mascot~

actually i got every character except the other character from Aoba Johsai

but i gave the Nekoma team coz they will be appreciated by others

they should release a whole Karasuno team though

the rubber mascots are really cute

my fave character is Yumoto since he is the only one that is so psyched whenever they have to defeat the monsters.

but this anime is really for laughs

Shonen Hollywood on the other hand, i can't say the same... maybe i like it since it's more Slice of Life

really a mix of bands here but it's really fun

currently going on a spin with the band apart

i say the sound is jazzy

can't put a finger to it but it's just that way it sounds to me

have not started this series but knowing the live action film will be out soon...

i decided to get it

these are from comics connection at Dhoby Ghaut

though i hopefully wish they will still be in business

if they really close their stores, there won't be many places which sell anime goods at affordable prices...

and perhaps the only time to get would be events like AFA or icds or EOY

i would think my money would be saved in this way, but then there would be binge spending during AFA...

Pilgrim - the band apart

this kind of music is what i term as "otona no ongaku"　大人の音楽
because it just has a laid-back feel (jazzy sound) from the usual kind of songs i listen to.

the melody is always catchy as usual..

went out with plans as to what to do for the day.

sometimes it's good  to have plans

it will make you have a focus and drive.

Chinatown shopping

went to Chinatown for some snack shopping after lunch...

lots of tourists there taking advantage of free peanut samples

there were also some teachers who brought the kindergarden children out for sightseeing to Chinatown

we bought some seaweed snacks

so much of preserved/waxed food stuff in this stall

it rained this morning before we left the house

so the weather was partly sunny at times and then drizzled a little a while later

we went to Funan centre and Liang Court (Meidi-Ya)

found a gashapon machine on level 1 of Liang Court before going into Meidi-Ya and saw Gintama...

so ultimately spend $4 for this

still find it hard to believe that so much time has passed and now things are getting more expensive

even if it's just a dollar more it's still alot of difference

the last stop before heading home was to Wing Stop at Farrer Park

the lightbulb interior deco is really retro

although i think the waiting time for the chicken wings were still alright but maybe i was abit hungry from walking around alot so it felt a bit long

Hawaiian/Atomic Bomb/Smoked BBQ

the Atomic Bomb was supposed to be the hottest but i guess its more of the peppercorn than the chilli that make it spicy

i like the Hawaiian flavour the best

will be heading out tomorrow again

went on a gashapon/capsule spree today

really prepared to spend some $$$ on plastic

the 4 on the left are repeats

it is really hard to get a full set

unless you spend the whole time just trying the whole machine

so i have never ever gotten a full set of gashapon at all

there were quite a number of new Haikyuu ones so i decided to get them

these are in one collection

the handy collection.. supposedly to be able to use them

the first one i got was

this poor guy.. i say he was quite poorly manufactured

and the stand was very shabbily made

it's made of some rubber material and i had to force his feet into the stand. but

some nice michael jackson going on

in the image given, he was supposed to hold rubber bands...

if i were to rate this figure.. it's a 2.5/5

even the part of near his hair on the right wasn't cut properly

the next one i got was his team mate, Kuro

i could only get his back leg to go in the stand, the front foot is not supported

another sad case from the manufacturer

to rate this i would say 3/5

still not happy he can't stand well

was thinking of getting Persona 3 but then after i watched it i didn't particularly like it... so i didn't get it...

is it the ball from Gantz?

then i went to try for some Nanatsu no Taisai/ The Seven Deadly Sins

i really like purple capsules

the colour is so pleasant

i really wanted Ban

but i got a couple

Meliodas and Elizabeth

currently watching the anime... the new opening by MAN ON A MISSION is pretty good

though i still like Ban and Elaine couple

some what feel for the tragic couple more...

should i read the manga...

i got a double for Elizabeth...

*o* today is simply not my day for gashapon actually

the red capsule was from another machine

but lucky i managed to get a different one

i will never ever get a Hinata from gashapon
