some down time

it's been a month since i've updated my blog here.

it's been quite a strain, have been sleeping a lot more.

anyway, i need this time to motivate and encourage myself.

update on shows i'm currently watching.

My Hero Academia s2

want to continue watching this since season 3 is already started

i enjoyed watching this series, probably more catered to the younger audience.

love these watercolor illustrations they use in the half time

the episode where they worked in the anime shop was really funny.

i also like the aquarium episode. another short anime series that i enjoyed fully!

this was another interesting series, the background art was just as amazing

this year, the old school series that i have decided to embarked on is...

Dragonball

not surprising that all the classic ones i've watched are mostly shonen jump / seinen

but really like it so far, watching the classic Dragonball

i do like Goku in this series.

didn't occur to me but only after watching the series, it is really heavily influenced by China and Chinese history.

some of the characters names like Oolong, Pu Er and even Yamucha

i couldn't help but laugh when i first was introduced to it.

anyway, in about a week's time it will be the first anime event of the year that i'll attend!

Doujima!

i have been trying not to stalk artists too early otherwise i'll be too overwhelmed

and might purchase mindlessly.

i try not too. i have honestly started the year with too many online purchases.

which is a bad start.

and it's only just the end of the first quarter.

i have 9 more months till the end of the year and i need to save more not spend more.

i'll try to update when i have the time.

watching currently

i recently finished watching Kleun Cheewit the series.

it was good, currently i'm watching Two Spirits Love

it's nice so far too.

the anime Uchuu yori mo toori basho is good too.

but still here to say a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016~

been really busy last month and things are indeed not going to slow down this month too.

about less than a month till Chinese New Year, so of course it will be busy again!

i will try to update in my free time, when i remember!

so far, i started watching some of the animes that premiered this Winter 2016.

really enjoy some of them as well!

the much anticipated Boku Dake ga Inai Machi aka ERASED is good!
really enjoyed the first episode and the song fits the story so well.

the song is Re:re: by AKFG, although surprising to me and some others that they used an old song (it was released a few years ago already) but as long it fits the anime i don't mind anything they use.

Dagashi Kashi is another interesting anime that has a Barakamon feel. The character design of Kokonotsu makes me think of Yamaguchi from Haikyuu. but they are totally different in character, just the looks i feel.

I also went to watch Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu at random and really like it too! The protagonist is voiced by the seiyuu of Whisper in Youkai Watch and i confirmed my suspicions when I checked the cast! He does suit the character though!

Another funny short anime is Sekkou Boys. its just plain silly and purely for laughs

i guess these will be the ones i watch for this period!

can't wait for Ajin to start!

wanted to add a few more links to other artists that i like.

in relation to my previous post of Doujin groups.

honestly, i think there are still many groups that will be selling their stuff on the days of AFA. a hundred tables set up just for fan art... i hope to have enough time to look at the stuff.

really hope to not be overwhelmed cause i can already foresee that it will attract alot of buzz this year.

KotatsuCats has cool illustrations that are in print form.

quite a number of artists do fanart from video games, sadly i don't play that many but i really like the art style and would encourage others who do play the games and are fans to support the art!

The artists at KAMCAO have wide range of merch and i like their art styles too! Previously got the Gangsta phone wipers from them!

have bought a few prints from DatWorks the last time as well. really like the Psycho Pass ones.

another artist that has pretty art is Mints , though i don't think i've bought anything yet i do like the art style. the color palette she uses for each art is really nice. i think her group name is Citru5

Dark's art is really cute too, though i don't play TouRanbu the fanbook is so cute

her art is cute too, and damn talented... might want to check out the prints that she has...

since i started watching Himouto! Umaru-chan i may get some merch from the show.

additional: jellyfishcakes is based overseas but her art is so gorgeous too! really like the gravity falls and adventure time jake ones.


there are probably a whole lot more of artists that i'm missing out since all i could get were links on facebook so i will probably just be surprised when i go check out AFA anyways

i think each year will come with a new slew of fan merch and i do say i'm looking forward to what comes next year just because i read quite a number of the manga.

maybe the ones i'm looking forward to are

Bungo Stray Dogs (ongoing manga series 8 vol - to be made into anime)
Ajin (ongoing manga series 7vol - to be made into 3  part animated movie)
A silent voice (completed series 7 vol to be made into anime)
Boku Dake ga Inai Machi  (ongoing manga series 6 vol - to be made into anime)

should really encourage more people to read psychological manga, it's really good.

i hope the animes and movie anime have good reception from the audience.

the list of animes that are slated to start next January make me happy.

will try to update again with AFA haul the next time because i will be super busy with work the next week.

which i am atrociously slow and not really fully comprehending the story line because there is no helping hiragana for the kanji.

the short stories are written by other authors, not the original creator though.

i just finished reading the spinoff Shounen Hollywood series.

they are drawn so cutely, it's kind of strange...

will limit myself and start reading my mangas one by one...

but sometimes i may give up when i realise there is no helping hiragana for kanji

the music is so entrancing

i love the sound of the ang klung used in the track 'Ri'

hence, in line with my habit of being punctual and staying late i have to do things when people are not around

the "ungodly hour".

i wonder why i can't sit down and come up with a better idea before.

alas, when i've come up with it.. whatever has to be done is already done

it is quite an old series since it originally aired in 2008

ah, but recently i've been seeing it listed on the list of popular animes on kissanime

i think i'm drawn to such themes for animes

the BGM used and the OP song is very lovely as it totally fits the anime's story

the art for the characters are alright but i think the focus is more of the scenery as it's mostly to do with nature and the mushi

the seiyuu suits the character very well...

the other seiyuus used for the other supporting characters like the children are chosen very well

really like the casting for this anime

have to work double weekend!!~
