AFA 2014 Haul ~part 2

i'm back again~

on with my second part of the haul and happenings at yesterday's AFA

to me, i would say Death Note is one of the earliest anime to have a much darker storyline which was able to capture a good amount of followers

given that i only watched the Death Note movies including the L movie and half of the anime, i can say it's a good series with nice plot twists

after we took photos at the Death Note booth we stood at the Future Entertainment Stage to watch the guest cosplayers..

there were cosplayers from South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and Japan

Reika and Kaname were cosplaying characters from Hoseki~

Yugene Fay also cosplayed another character from the same anime

There were 4 others cosplaying as characters from Love Live! and 3 Taiwanese cosplayers who did characters from Psycho Pass 2

went to look at Hana and Baozi's cosplay photos.

Poster collection

all the posters A4/A3 and that big kaneki poster

every single one is so pretty!~

if i must say, finding that Mushishi poster was precious because i am currently watching it and i love the series, OST and the storyline

the Psycho Pass ones were also the ones that made my day..

i got those together with the Ace of Diamond poster

didn't watch Ace of Diamond but i just felt that the art was very clean and nice so i got it

the 3 posters at the bottom (Noragami, Chibi characters of Tokyo Ghoul and Kill La Kill) i got that at another stall, all are A3 size

the Cat returns, Howl's moving castle and the goth girl were from another booth

the (Final Fantasy) lightning print was the other stand alone print i got, there  were 3 versions of it but i got this one because i like the background fog like pattern

the 2 other prints i got stand alone were Mushishi and Tokyo Ghoul

the booth with the Tokyo Ghoul print was very simple and didn't stand out as easily because the prints they put on the wall behind the table were ink sketches

they had realistic paintings which was why i was attracted to the Kaneki print

there was a Mikasa poster as well which was precious but i couldn't bear to part with my cash

was running very low on cash then

to the god hand who made this, thank you.

there was 2 versions to choose the print, either in Matte ($25) or Glossy ($40) so i went with the cheaper option

the one displayed was the glossy one and obviously freaking prettier but then in my current state at the time i had to go with Matte

JUST LOOK AT THAT!

i was going on about how i would regret if i didn't get it so i decided to "Heck it and buy" after less than 15 mins of thinking

i hope the booth does well for today and tomorrow!!

this print will definitely sell well along with the others


*TIP: If you want to save money at events like these, it is best to know lesser animes. The less you know the more you save, The more you know the less you save.

I was so happy to see the Gintama prints

this seller also had a tumblr so i was so glad i found her booth

i just had to get the gintama prints

trying my best to get a variety, i went for the Ulquiorra (Bleach) and Aladdin (Magi) print to round up my postcards to 10. there was an offer if you bought 5 postcards you could get a free bookmark

so i got a Kagura and Tsukiyama bookmark

BH6, Tiger and Bunny, Nozaki-kun, Pokemon

 another big hit at the event was Big Hero 6 keychains and GekkanShoujo Nozaki-Kun

found some YowaPedal badges!~

got my favourite 2 and wish there were more YowaPedal prints

bought the O blood type badge along with the TG badges at the same booth

the Prof Oak and Seennpaaaaiiii!! badges were from another booth

i just decided to get the senpai badge because it was cute!

(was thinking of the "Senpai, Please notice me" thing so i got it.. haha)

i bought less badges considerably

after the event we went for dinner and then headed to Kino to buy stuff

i got Takarai Rihito's latest release!

*mainly her works are BL but just chanced upon it and decided to get it. since i don't think i will get to see it if it wasn't placed so openly.

today i went there again and bought vol 2 of A-Jin but in Chinese...

because i want to continue the story

whilst walking around the area there were more people who came to the event just to see and not necessarily know much anime. there were a few Caucasians there too which was rare because when AFA was held in the past there were mostly Asian base

quite a number of younger audiences and i mean like Primary school and lower Secondary ages

some with their parents

which is really interesting...

wonder if the price for entrance tickets will increase year by year...

if it is going to increase again i really need to think twice properly

AFA 2014 part 1~

back to bring a post about post-AFA status

went for AFA yesterday and was there really early.

but, BUT, there were still more people ahead of us and already it was so crowded when we reached inside the hall at 10am

we got lost while trying to get to the hall luckily we decided to meet at 9.30 at the train station...

who knows we walked a merry-go-round just to find out we were so near to the convention center

we headed straight to the creator's hub area because we had an idea to get the stuff we wanted very much before it was all sold out

got to the booths to get a lot of tokyo ghoul stuff

the haul this year consists mainly of Tokyo Ghoul, Haikyuu!!, Pokemon and some Psycho Pass

the postcard set and 2 of the key chains were from soumeki who has a tumblr.
luckily i remembered the various booth numbers so we could quickly get the stuff
though they had to restock the quinx

i think i had a clearer focus this year as to get certain things and i did stick to my decisions

i got quite a number of prints (posters, postcards, bookmarks)

i looked just like a typical otaku

Haikyuu!!

everything Haikyuu is my favourite!!

actually was contemplating if i should get the postcard set

but since i didn't find any posters i liked of the group i decided to get the postcards in the end

the key chains were the items i was eyeing for a long time,, the seller also has a tumblr too..

Hurray for Mass-media communications!!~ so effective in broadcasting info!

first time i got some artbooks... the art is really pretty!

i just had to get that Prof. Oak badge!!

and that pokemon key chain was from my friend's store

haha..

i can't remember the name of the pokemon but it's just very silly in the Pokemon movie that i saw so i thought it was nice to get it

and we managed to get the Poker cards set from the Proware booth

december already

it's been a few weeks since i last posted here

have been busy and trying to catch up with anime to make it in time for AFA

today is already the 1st of December the last month of the year.

time really flies...

finished reading Tokyo Ghoul manga and currently watching a few animes

but am just contented with mushishi

is it to counter the "waifu" term used for male otakus?

just saying, my new fave character is Ginko

he's just lovely

ah, and i watched a few episodes of Parasyte

damn freaking scary compared to Teraformars

the op song by Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas suits the show theme but then the use of Daichi's ballad is kind of strange...

but it sounds nice


planning to buy quite a number of merchandise this year at AFA

feel like getting a few art books just because they are prints and i was  thinking of collecting more prints instead of keychains or badges

well, won't rule out the usual ones...

must support talent!!

good thing some of the artists put their art on tumblr, it would be easier to find their booth there.

the past week - a recap

hello!

so here i am back again to update on the past week!

Hectic but good week too, from today starting it's less than a week before school starts again.

so i had my full shift on Sunday but i'm so glad i am still alive

:)

because before that i had to cover for absence of others.

tiring but this can also be part of training and experience...

then the most surprising and rewarding part!

to find out that my friend won a pair of free tickets to KPP Nanda Tour.

YES, F-R-E-E! *not a scam!

i could say  "my spirits were lifted" when i saw her message

apparently on that day i was "famous" because alot of calls and messages were on my phone..

:)

so of course i wanted to go!!!

First being, it was free.

Second, I do listen to KPP - if only just when i want something happy sounding (POP music) because one can become pretty moody with too much rock music

Third, and luckily i was free on Saturday - despite the fact i had work the next day. think about that later was the though i had. Free concerts don't come so easily and often.. Just go!!

Fourth, i was wishing to go for another concert this year. even thought if it was KPP, i wouldn't mind.

Fifth, let's just get on with the details

so we met up early for lunch before planning on going there about 2hrs early to collect the tickets beforethe show, the doors open at 7pm only

had lunch at sushi express!!!~

yeah!

pretty good stuff there and the desserts were nice too!!

after many cups of hot green tea, i wanted to go find Toys R Us

and being unfamiliar with Suntec City... we got lost there..

i wonder why, despite going there annually for AFA, i still am not familiar with it

>.> don't think the renovation has any thing to do with the locations of the buildings.. but...

i'll try my best to remember this coming Dec!!~

well, we came across this shop selling stationery and all sorts of character goods Rilakkuma, Hello Kitty, Snoopy.. etc...

then i bought the stuffed keychain of Barii-san from the Ehime Prefecture..

the shop also sells Kumamon stuff but when i managed to find Barii and many other mascots i couldn't help it

the real Barii-san mascot is so huge and round and its so funny to watch it

it makes the squeaky noise when you squish the body of Barii

as you can tell it is my new favourite thing

also got some SnK keychains

ok, then about the concert
the concert was at The Star Vista (Buona Vista MRT)

we saw some fans dressed up as Kyary too.. onegirl was cosplaying as Kyary in her Furisodesho mv

Overall, it was a very upbeat and fun atmosphere during the concert.

except for some people who were sitting during the live, i enjoyed myself!

she ended the concert at 8.40pm but came back for an encore and performed Candy Candy and there's a cute song "See You Again"

they did cartwheels and all those fast dance moves..

some almost fell... but they recovered well

so i managed to come back at a "not too late" time and survived to walk up the next day for F shift
i also got a visit from my poly friends during my F shift so it made me happy too!

and i'm going out for dinner another few days to come!!~

so it seems June was pretty awesome after all!!!~

OH, and SID's new single, ENAMEL will be used in the new Kuroshitsuji anime "Book of Circus"

and it will be out on 27.08.2014

if you wonder why August? there's the answer!

as yet, no cover of the cd yet! hope it will be one with their faces!


but the end of June also brings many changes, there won't be the PT around and so just FT mostly who are new

hopefully it can be still be in the $10 - $15 range...

i might want to go for stgcc this year... because i haven't went for maybe 2 years or so?

since i invested quite alot in AFA...

not sure...

stgcc will be in September this year.

have to check if i have any financial problems pop up by 3/4 of the year...


by the way, AFA already released news of the dates for the event..

and can i say that i'm not pleased...
