to go or not to go?!

but my priority is usually the cosplay competition...

the Anisong is ok... eye-opener since it will be the first time...

and i only realized (foolish) that the concert starts at 7pm.

comparing to last year's AFA that i went, they did the same thing.

holding it after most people have left the festival area.

if i do go on Sat, (and i presume that the cosplay competition will be on Sunday)
that means i have to buy tickets for both days?

must remember i still have church on Sun, and i wonder what time i will get back after the concert if i do go.

i know this worry is not necessary but i still...

must plan my money usage wisely!

right here, i would like to do a comparison.
(there might be others who have noticed this too.. but i'm just slogging to show it to those who have not ever attended AFA...)

let's take a look at the things you get at the entrance of the festival hall...

difference is... colour?!

since AFA started in 2008 they definitely had to make it cheaper...
the increase in tix prices are very alarming.
but the invitation of the number of overseas artistes do cover the cost.

the picture is small but in 2008 tix for fest were $5 while the fest & stage were $8
freakin affordable...
i bet even the primary school kids could afford it with their savings...

i didn't go for AFA 2009 so i don't know how much or if there was a price influx.

then came the Anisong concerts...
this was the mind-blowing part.

suddenly out popped out packages for tix.
i felt like it was more of a travel fair! lol!!
plus, this year they expanded it to 3 days!!!

last year's fest: $8 , fest & stage: $15 and the concert tix was $55

you can count the difference...

this year's price ranges are insane... (++)

they used Suntec Halls 403 and 404 in 2008...
for the past year they were using halls 401 and 402..
i presume that they stick to the same venue this year?

also, they stopped using wristbands as it's kinda wasting resources and killing trees?!
they used chops instead... wait! i remembered wearing pink wristbands last year??!

ok, i think they used both?! umm.. i preferred wristbands i don't like chops...
hard to wash off sometimes..

went out with my daddy long legs to wat Carl's Jr at Nex...

we didn't wait long for the food to come.

a good thing about Carl's is that the drinks are free flow!

i chose lemon tea.
it comes unsweeten so you can choose to add sugar syrup or use sugar sachets.

paper napkin dispenser

there's a napkin dispenser at every table too...

another thing that differs from other fast food restaurants...

burgers are HUGE

the size of the burgers are gi-normous
but very tasty.. juicy and not as dry...

the fries are not salty and crispy on the outside and fluffy soft inside even till the last one..

i had the Santa Fe chicken burger.

wholemeal bun, fresh lettuce, palm sized chicken breast

it was delicious!
YUMMY!

Jalapeno thick burger

this was my father's order...
there are chillies in there.. spicy!

fries are good!

it doesn't need to be crinkle cut, it just need to be un-salty to be good for me!

i had a good lunch...

but a word of caution, it's best for people with huge pit for their stomachs..
not suitable for small eaters...
and it can burn a hole in your pocket..
so not advisable to eat this too much...

yesterday i watched the movie, Ahjusshi (The man from Nowhere)

lead: Won Bin

i could recognise him and the girl Kim Sae Ron...

Won Bin is so cool!! :D
even though i don't like violent action shows, but it was good.

the directing was good...
and although there was bloody it wasn't too in your face..

in your face: heads flying, limbs cutting...

though there was some nudity...
i've seen worse in other shows...

Kim Sae Ron acted as the young Woo Ri in Can you Hear my Heart...

i still have not finished watched CYHMH...
shall wait till the dvd comes out...

but sometimes it's a tad too much to take it.

i went to buy milk tea at this new stall at Hougang Mall this afternoon after i came back from school.

the stall is called Taiwan Mao Kong.
mao kong in this case is 2 seperate words, 貓空.

directly translated it means cat empty.
according to wiki, 貓空 used to be the biggest tea plantation in Taiwan.
therefore the name is derived in this form.

the store was having a Buy 1 Get 1 Free promotion so i had a chance to try 2 flavours.

i chose the typical one, Mao Kong Milk Tea with Nata De CoCo and the Mango Ice Blended.

sweet and good~ different frm the usual tapioca pearls

 the first thing that comes to my mind when i see the word 'Mao' is...

it has no relation whatsoever but i always think of him first.

oh, and i just found out the date for this year's AFA convention.

it will be held on the 11.11.11

i was like... "huh? is it supposed to be a more auspicious date or just a date to rmb easier?"

i think it was like both... if that was what the event organising committee was thinking.

i think i cannot tahan...

but luckily stgcc is pushed forward to Aug which is abit early.

but since the timing for AFA turned out like that, i think it's alright.

at least there's one coming up in about 3 months time.
and after stgcc, just need to wait another 3 months for the next one.

no need to say what days are those... it's usually 6,7 for 2 day event and 5-7 for 3 day events
been to such events for awhile now so it's abit more familiar to me...

but i always go with the same people...
wonder how it will be like going with a different crowd?

hope to enjoy even so with change.
