ただいま!

i'm back from my trip to the big outdoors!

i had lunch at Macs then, went to the library to look at the mags.

afterward, we headed down to Compass Point Mall at Seng Kang..

there were hordes of people there.

here are some pictures..

this was taken from the 3rd level.

there wasn't much people at that time, but before that there were many.
the crowd consisted of mainly primary & secondary school students..
and some grandmas bringing their grandchildren around to see..
mothers would be against the idea of getting one for their kids, coz it would be a"waste of money"

lol..

mini gundam
this was the miniature Gundam that greeted everyone who entered the area..
many people were busy snapping shots with it..
cute mecha..

leaflet
they usually put the more famous names there..
but it's just enough to attract die-hard gashapon fans...

here's what i bought..

i usually go and find the anime-related machines; especially for Gintama..
we first walked around to look carefully at the machines..

the first machine that we went to try was the SWEETS USAGI CLEANER
it was the soft toy mochi shaped rabbit cum handphone cleaner..

sakura mochi usagi
the red eyes are a little scary when i first saw..
it cost me $3...

next, i went to this machine, panda mochi

shiratama zensai
i hope i got the name correct..
this cost me $2...

use chopsticks sign
cute panda..

the next one that i went was very risky..
i actually set my eyes on that first but there were so many other people going to that machine too that i hesitated at first.
i always think that the good ones will be taken..

as i was still deciding, one girl went before me, and she got the white one...

i actually thought that was a nice colour..

anyway, this was what i got..

mini camera ^^
my camera's colour is light blue; almost like turquoise..
i like it alot more after looking at it longer..
it was $3..

and last but not the least, i went to try this machine..
kokeshi-zu gintama

it was a very lucky result..
gintoki!
finally after trying so many various machines, i got his character!
i was so happy!!

i just searched wiki to find out what is kokeshi mean..
i was wondering why the dolls were so weird looking..

here's the extract:
Kokeshi are Japanese dolls and originated from Northern Japan.  They are handmade from wood, have a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. The body has a floral design painted in red, black, and sometimes yellow, and covered with a layer of wax. One characteristic of kokeshi dolls is their lack of arms or legs.

ooh.. so now i know why they were without arms and legs..
