i didn't think western countries would know of taobao since its quite popular in China and the other Chinese speaking community.
but i guess when it comes to cheap things everyone flocks to the same place irregardless of language
anyway, the surprise isn't the topic for this post...
in her haul she had gotten a few sets of sailor seifuku whichthen led me to search about what taobao was.
all i had was that it was an online shop which other names like g-market and many Qoo10
so here is the link of the shop called stars rainbow (very literal translation from chinese)
the galaxy print seifuku was the item that made me recall of this very crazy idea.
i actually planned to do something like that but it didn't happen because i had no time.
but since i had time to spare late this afternoon, i went ahead with it!
so, with the "intro" done, let me start this, shall i say, parody post:

HOW TO MAKE A SAILOR SEIFUKU (D.I.Y) - NEWSPAPER
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
STEP 1.
newspaper, pen,scissors, glue/tape |
Lay 4 newspapers spread open and glue/tape together.
using the classified ads... |
Step 2.
Take measurements or your head circumference to gauge how much to cut for the neck hole.
From the center of the joined newspapers, use a compass and draw the a circle.
Cut it out and you should get something like this:
looks like those boards used to behead offenders |
Measure your hips and waist to gauge the length and width of the shirt.
I intended to do the long sleeve but it was more difficult than it seems so i changed it to short sleeve.
But it didn't work out because silly me i glued the sleeve together and i couldn't put my hand through.
Ha. I'm such a genius... at failing to make such a simple task.
i didn't get a picture of the top.
but the next step i did was to make the sailor collar piece.
Look at pictures for references so you don't mess up.
here's the only picture i took of it... a close up too.
it looks weird here.. |
and i didn't mess up on the skirt.
because its just folds... and fold...
Step 4.
Fold newspaper for the skirt
fold it away! |
so the final outfit... oh, and the ribbon too is easy to do.

the front view |
i messed up a little/
and i wish i did make it red it would be nicer...
almost like kyary's seifuku in candy candy
the top...
its so glittery~ kira kira |
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
so the final final outfit
made from newspaper |
so its like sleeveless and since i made it separately
it's good for sport classes.
hi~ |
i think i look ok in a sailor seifuku but i don't really suit cosplay.
haha....
i don't think anyone will bother with my parody tutorial.
doing something so lame...
its like chindogu but i make something that is useless.
chindogu is making things that are useful but its just too weird to use.
