i was expecting alot more people to be there, but perhaps there wasn't much buzz about it so only a small crowd was there.
i and kimeki met up at about 1+ pm because we thought it would start at that time.
that was what it stated on the mag.. (don't want to mention the name!)
HOWEVER...
when i got there, i looked at the board and it said 5PM!
we had to waste 4 hours until the event started.. :P

first, the band were setting up their instruments on the very mini stage.

the emcee for the event was Ivy from Yes 9.33FM..
she conducted it in english for the most part..

the audience could win a free poster if they answered the question correctly.
alas, we were a little hesistant and shy lor...
that's why we didn't get any poster...
haha... :)
but we knew the answers, coz we watched it already! :D
next she introduced this band who performed 2 sets, 4 songs each.
all the songs were from animes which i didn't really catch the names.. :(
i only remembered one which was High school of the Dead or something like that...
i didn't catch the group's name too.. but they were great!
awesome... though i think the venue at Heeren is a tad too odd...

after the band performed their first set, Ivy came back on and announced for the finalists to come up on stage..
lol.. this guy was the funniest...
he was so into his character and when he had to say his lines,
Ivy had to help him hold his mic until her hand became very tired...
after he finished speaking, she was like: "Finish already?? Ok, good! Finally ah! My hand very tired leh!"

i didn't take a single shot of the 3rd cosplayer...
i was blocked by those guys with the freaking Pro DSLR cameras..

after her was this guy...
i think his character was from an anime, but i dunno which?!
i'm so bad at this!!
better go watch more animes...

i also didn't get a chance to take the pic of the 5th finalists..
the same reason as for the 3rd finalists..
but surprisingly when the last one came out, i wasn't blocked so i could take!
she explained that her character was the came Three Kingdoms
or something like that...

identities are not revealed (i was standing behind them.. that's why)
the 3rd prize went to the guy with the huge sword.
2nd went to the warlock aka Jason...
his friends arrived and were calling his name out...
lol..
1st prize went to the final contestant.
we both guessed that she would win because of her costume and performance.
since this was a minor event it wasn't very long, it lasted for an hour..
so after the cosplay competition ended, we headed back to Dhoby Ghaut to eat dinner..
we went to Pastamania!

had a great time yesterday!
looking forward to more cosplay events this year...
must save up $$$ for the tix...
