not sure if i wanted to do but had an idea to write it down, so here i am posting it.
recently, i'm still in the process of completing the book though i read "The Silver Tide" by Jen Williams which is the final book in the Copper trilogy. It's probably the best surprise i found in the library so far. It was because I borrowed the first book from the library initially and was hooked on it.
The second book "The Iron Ghost" was quite good but i think the last book was the best.
Overall I say it is a good series that I enjoyed it alot.
Another dragon related title was mentioned by a book-tuber i think but forgotten who. Or was it a search online where someone mentioned it was a lesser known title by Stephen King which was not his usual Horror genre. It is called "The Eyes of the Dragon".
I've come to realise that i quite enjoy reading epic fantasy rather than urban paranormal fantasy.
Strangely enough I have yet to read the Outlander or World of Ice and Fire series.
I also like the Dreamwalker series by J.D. Oswald but i was a little lost after the 3rd book. The fifth and final book will be out in October this year so I hope to find it in the library.
I read the Broken Empire series by Mark Lawrence but honestly after the 2nd book it wasn't that interesting because it wasn't really believable.
Well, I don't think fantasy should be believable but still probably i didn't like the character development. Probably the first character I came across with a lot of hatred in him.
It didn't make me want to read his other series.
Most of the time it's easier to find western based fantasy novels, but last month i managed to find this great series by Lian Hearn called "The Tale of Shikanoko" which is a fantasy series based in Japan. It is a four part book series which is complete and I've read the first 2 which are already published. Picador published as a 2 in 1 whereas fsg published in 4 books separately. I admit it might take awhile to get used to all the Japanese names especially for readers who are not used to seeing them but the story progresses really well.
I think it would actually be pretty good as a live-action movie. It's set in a fictional feudal period.
I do plan on re-reading Harry Potter but have not found any in the libraries I went to so far. I am slightly tempted to buy the series.
Brent Weeks is an author who is also on my to read list but have yet to find the first book in any of his series in the library, it's a bit of a let down.
I also intend on reading any of the other novellas of J.R.R Tolkien.
I must say that the actual first YA fantasy series I read was by Colleen Houck called the Tiger Saga. It has 4 books released so far and the fifth book is still under wraps. I did clearly remember i enjoyed reading but probably was in the time when i didn't know much of how YA fiction was written.
Still enjoy literature as it is just not written for YA, perhaps I should find some good ones.
Garth Nix series is good too although I only read a little of it.
might do a similar post for other genres of book since this is mostly on Fantasy.
let's do our best for the rest of the month and the rest of the year
I like this and the cover of Stand by Me is also pretty nice.
